CPR & Basic First Aid

In case of an emergency, it’s important for all caregivers to know CPR and basic first aid skills. While you should certainly call 9-1-1 first, CPR is a life-saving tool that can be used while help is on the way. Performing CPR can double or triple the chance of survival, according to the American Heart Association.

To become CPR certified, the Red Cross offers classes that are primarily completed on your computer in addition to a two-hour in-person session. (To find a class click here.)

Free Safety Course

Swim Kids Waco offers a Safety Course in the fall and spring to teach basic CPR skills and other first aid. This is NOT a certification class; no CPR cards will be given upon completion. However, you will learn skills that you can use at home or in public should the need arise.

The next Safety Course will be held Sunday, September 29 from 3:30-5:00pm at theCENTER (1115 Columbus Ave). This class is free to the public, but please register here to save your spot.
